60 days to go!

World, here we come

Hello, and welcome to our little corner of the internet. We are Alicia and Michael, we got married in April of 2019, and are currently in the process of packing up our house, quitting our jobs, and selling all of our belongings. We're doing all this so we can embark on our biggest adventure yet, backpacking around the world!

We met in 2011 in Perth, Australia, and have pretty much been planning this epic adventure ever since. For the past 6 years we’ve lived in Sydney, but from now on, home is whereever we are together.

We begin our epic trip by driving across the country, all the way from Sydney to Perth. We'll be loading up my little VW Polo with our last remaining possessions, and our fluffy sidekick Beefie in tow (follow her adventure at instagram.com/beefcake_the_pom). We're taking our time, travelling along the coast to see all the highlights and hidden gems along the way. We'll be alternating between staying in budget pet-friendly accommodation and camping.

While we're packing up and downsizing, we're in full-on planning mode. Once we've dropped off the car in Perth, and said (a very teary) goodbye to Beefie, our first stop is Japan.  We fly into Tokyo and then head straight up to Hakuba the next day to get our powder fix, then have a few days each in Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo.
